Right to Request Flexible Working Extended to all Employees

From today, 30 June 2014, the right to request flexible working is extended to all employees and is no longer reserved just for parents or carers. To be eligible the individual must be an employee, have worked for the employer for minimum 26 weeks; and must make the request in writing. Only one request can be made by the employee in any 12-month period. An employer must consider a request made by an employee but may refuse it if it has a good business reason for doing so.
